Call For Abstracts

From the UB Chair of Gender Perspective and Feminisms Ciutat de Cornellà we understand that it is important to analyze how the proposals of grassroots feminisms are intertwined and the public policies that are developed to respond to social demands, and the construction of knowledge in the Academy.

Thinking about this relationship requires facing the tensions that may arise, taking into account not only the resistances, but also the empty declarations of intentions, spurious interests and hidden agendas, pink or purple washing without real transformation.

However, the legacy of feminism in the institutions has also been effective in changing some consciences and sensitivities and that is why we also want to echo and collect the good practices and the possibilities of fruitful and honest collaboration between the different actors involved.

The First International Conference of the Chair will address the fit of the gender perspective and feminisms with social movements and political strategy, from different points of view.

Abstracts will be accepted in Catalan, Spanish and English, on the following topics:

· Activism vs institutional politics

· Political strategies and feminisms

· Law and Public Policies

· History and epistemology of feminist social movements

· Social movements and political strategies

· Patriarchy and Precariat

· Application and intersections of the gender perspective in experimental sciences and health sciences

· Application and intersections of the gender perspective in education, social sciences and humanities

Send the abstracts, of 300 words maximum, to the email address icongrespgf@gmail.com, indicating the subject area in the body of the message.

Important dates:

· Submission of abstracts: until October 1st, 2023.

· Communication of acceptances: November 6th, 2023

· Registration: until December 1st, 2023.

· Congress dates: December 11th and 12th, 2023.
